DUBLIN—Harry F. "Uppy" Tompkins, 90, Rodeo legend and professional bull rider of Dublin, passed away June 29, 2018 in Stephenville. Services will be hel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Cowboy Church of Erath County, 4945 US Hwy 67, in Stephenville, with Werth Mayes officiating. Burial to follow in Old Dublin Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Harrell Funeral Home.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1927 in Peekskill New York and was the son of Frank and Ethel Tompkins. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Tompkins of Dublin; his children and their spouses, Martha and Larry Jordan of Dublin, Mark and Laura Tompkins of Alanta, GA, Neal Tompkins of Stephenville and Ronnie and Sharon McConnell of Dublin; his grandchildren, Jake Tompkins, Ava Tompkins, Misty Grady and Mindy Mathis;
his great-grandchildren, McKenzie Mathis, Mikala Grady and Mason Grady; other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all.
