The Denison City Council will discuss issuing $1 million in debt to fund designs for improvements to downtown Denison and Main Street when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Denison City Hall. In 2016, the city contracted with Toole Design Group for conceptual design work for improvements to the downtown entertainment district, with a focus on Main Street.
With these funds, the city will contract with Toole for the full-scale design of the first phase of improvements, which will include portions of Main Street east of Austin Avenue.
Other items that will be considered include:
• a report from the property owner of a structure located at 2211 S. Woodlawn;
• a request for a conditional use permit for 14 acres of land in the Denison Industrial Park;
• a Chapter 380 agreement with Heyday Entertainment.
In a closed, executive session, the council will discuss pending litigation regarding 715 W. Sears and 617 W. Florence before reconvening in open session to take any necessary action.
