Club Futbol Tigres de la Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and Club Deportivo Tiburones Rojos de la Veracruz are scheduled to face off Wednesday Nov. 8.

Kick off for the event will be 7:30 p.m. at H-E-B Park. Tickets for the game go on sale Saturday Oct. 14 with prices starting at $35. To purchase tickets visit or the box office at the park.

"This is just the beginning," H-E-B Park President Bert Garcia said. "For us maybe we can get someone who hasn't been to H-E-B Park and they'll fall in love with it, come back and cheer on the Toros."

The match was created in a such a short notice due in part to the break in FIFA qualifying series. But Garcia has known since the opening of the stadium los Tigres were going to play at H-E-B Park.

Garcia said there is a contract in place for the venue to host four more friendly matches with Liga MX. Some will be played against the RGVFC Toros and some will be friendlies within the Liga MX.

Events like this are all about the community for RGVFC Toros ownership. An event like this can provide an opportunity to a fan that was perhaps not available because of travel expenses.

"They might have not had the opportunity to travel to Monterrey to watch their favorite team," Garcia said. "But they have the opportunity here in Edinburg, Texas."

While nothing was announced today officials with the park are also working to bring a class A concert to fill the 17,000-person capacity.
