The Brookesmith Lady Mustangs have qualified for the Region II-A cross country meet for the second consecutive year following a third-place team finish at the District 16-A meet earlier this week.

Khloe Brummett led the charge for Brookesmith with a second-place effort of 14:47 trailed by Katie Harris in third place with a 14:49, Chyna Allgood in 15th place with a 17:08, Laramie Nelson in 25th place with an 18:12, Whitley Been in 36th place with a 19:47, Sesily Morris in 38th place with a 19:55 and Karolina Mata in 39th place with a time of 20:10.

Running in the JV division were Payge Gerth placing third with a time of 20:22, Jolene Andrews finishing fourth with a time of 21:10, and Autumn Petross coming in 10th with a time of 27:19.

In the junior high girls division, the Lady Mustangs were well represented by Sharon Beth Bradley who placed 25th with a time of 25:49 and Elida Uvalle who placed 30th and ran a time of 26:54.

The Region II-A meet will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23 at Angelo State University.
