The Edinburg City Council has named Juan Guerra as City Manager.

Mr. Guerra is a former U.S. Marine, Certified Public Accountant and a U.S. Customs Broker. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business and brings 18 years’ experience in City government with him to Edinburg.

Guerra was born and raised in Chicago, but has called the Valley home for 26 years. He’s a graduate of Nikki Rowe High School in McAllen and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1996 to 2000.

“It’s very exciting to be part of Edinburg’s future.” Guerra said. “I look forward to working with Mayor Molina , the City Council members and the great staff at the City of Edinburg. We are public servants and I want to make sure that every employee has that mindset as we work together in implementing the vision of the Mayor and City Council.”

“Edinburg isn’t waiting for a better future. We are creating it.” Mayor Richard Molina said. “Juan Guerra is part of our future. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Edinburg and this community will be well served under his leadership.”

Guerra has served as the City Manager for the city of Pharr since 2015.
