We have a short week coming up since the Center will be closed for observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 28. But we will open on Tuesday for our woodcarvers from 9 am to noon and our 10:30 fitness group led by Terri Lucas.

There are several special events coming up in June:  at 6 pm on Monday, June 4 our bluegrass musicians led by Cita Moore will gather at the Center. 

On Wednesday, June 13, the Center citizens will be entertained by a gospel group Free Indeed beginning at noon that day. 

On Friday June 15 of that week, we will celebrate Fathers beginning at 11:30 am.  The following week will begin with gospel music led by Paul Trotter, beginning at 6 pm.  And our monthly dance will be Saturday, June 23, beginning at 7 pm.  Our entertainer will be Grant Groblebe. 

On Tuesday June 26 several will gather to play games at the Center from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.  Bring your favorite snack and come join them.  Then on Wednesday June 27 Margie will entertain us in celebration of June birthdays, beginning at 11:30 am.

The lunch menu for the week begins with baked fish, pinto beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies and cookies on Friday, May 25.

Monday—the Center is closed.

Tuesday—Vegetable beef soup, garden salad, cornbread, and chocolate pie.

Wednesday—Pork chop, hominy, spinach, cornbread and coconut cake.

Thursday—Pinto beans with sausage, turnip greens, cornbread and oatmeal cake.

Friday—Barbecue brisket, ranch potatoes, green beans, cornbread and mixed fruit.

Our Center is located at 209 SW Barnard, 254-897-2139.  We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon.  Meals eaten at the Center for those 60 and over:  donations are appreciated; those under 60 years of age:  $5.50; take-out meals are $3.75 for citizens 60 and over and $5.50 for those under 60 with drink and dessert included.
