The City of Edinburg and the Consulate of Mexico in McAllen invite the public to the 7th Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration to be held on Friday, May 4th, 2018 from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard located at 415 W. University Dr. in Edinburg.
Each year, the festival aims to celebrate the beautiful Mexican art and culture through the many entertaining and educational activities, special guest appearances, and art exhibits that take place during the event. This year, activities will include an Artisan Mercado, a Photography Exhibit, Traditional Dress Fashion Show, Folklorico Presentations, Cinco de Mayo Conference Talk, Children’s Clown presentation with games, prizes, and balloon animals, Mariachi Exhibitions, art displays, regional cuisine, and music by Grupo Internacional Constelacion.
This year the Centro Cultural Mexicano en el Valle de Texas joins the celebration and brings a photography exhibit inside the Edinburg City Hall Lobby with a reception starting at 6:30 p.m. and a Conference Presentation on the real history of Cinco de Mayo starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium.
Join us for a fun family friendly festival and enjoy mariachi and folklorico performances as well as the lively cumbias of Constelacion.
The Annual Cinco de Mayo festival is organized by the Cultural Arts Division of the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library.
