EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District recently honored its top physical education elementary students and staff who participated in the City of Edinburg’s 36th Annual All-America City 10K Run-Walk and Fun Run.
“Eisenhower Elementary School had 100 percent of its students register for the race, which was 629 students,” ECISD Physical Education Coordinator Leo Reyes said.
Eisenhower Elementary School received the All-America Trophy for the most number of registered students, staff and parents.
“Travis, Johnson and Austin elementary schools had 100 percent of their staff register for the races,” Reyes said. “Overall, we had about 4,500 students and staff participate in the race.”
More than 8,000 participants joined Edinburg’s race this year, making it one of the largest road races in Texas.
