Twelve batters and three innings are all it took for the Waxahachie Lady Indians to pick up a fifth District 10-5A softball win and first no-hitter of the season.
The Lady Indians plated 14 runs in the second inning at home Friday night for a quick and tidy 16-0 win against Lancaster.
Talia Salinas (2IP, 5K, BB) and Kameron Ryer (1IP, 3K) combined to no-hit Lancaster on just 48 pitches. The Lady Tigers reached base three times on an error, hit-batter and base-on-balls.
Sharrika Levingston, Ariana Robles and Kameron Ryer all left the yard for the Lady Indians, while Hannah Rash led the team with a 3-for-3 showing at the dish.
Levingston drove in a team-high five runs, while Rash accounted for four and Ariana Robles plated three.
Rash slapped two doubles, and Addy Redd and Talia Salinas added one, each. Raegan Fallis and Caley Robles recorded triples.
Waxahachie improved to 12-5-1 on the season and 5-1 in District 10-5A with the win.
The Lady Indians return to action at 7 p.m. Monday against Mansfield Lake Ridge in Mansfield. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was rescheduled due to potential bad weather.
