A string of car burglaries in the 300 block of Midnight Shadow Monday night has led to the arrest of three male juveniles and 37-year-old Javier Linan Jr., who was found to be in possession of stolen property.
“We received a call of a burglary of a motor vehicle on Monday night and when officers arrived on scene, they determined that at least three other vehicles had been burglarized,” said Jason Halsey, Stephenville’s assistant police chief. “It was also determined that six firearms and a compound bow had been stolen.”
On Tuesday, investigators received a tip that led them to the juveniles, who were arrested and released to their parents, Halsey said.
Investigators continued to track down the guns, which led them to Linan.
“When he was arrested Thursday he was in possession of one of the guns,” Halsey said.
Linan, who has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2000, is being held at the Erath County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
“We still want to get the other guns off the streets,” Halsey said. “Anyone who might have purchased a gun from Linan not knowing they were stolen should contact the police department or Crime Stoppers.”
The tip line to Crime Stoppers is 254-965-CASH.
