Sherman Police said one man was killed Thursday night when his vehicle collided with an electrical pole.
Lt. John Kennemer said, shortly before midnight, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of North Ross Avenue, near Old Settlers Park, where the found the 28-year-old driver with fatal injuries.
“It was a single-vehicle crash,” Kennemer said. “The driver — and the only occupant — was Miguel Garcia and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Kennemer said excessive speed was a likely factor in the crash, but he did not know how fast Garcia was traveling. The Sherman Police lieutenant also said he could not yet comment on other details, including whether Garcia was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
“The investigation is still ongoing, so we don’t have anything definite that I can say at this time,” Kennemer said.
