The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and the Stephenville Downtown Merchants Association is looking to make the holidays even brighter for area children.

“We are doing something new this year by hosting a Christmas toy drive that will benefit the Rainbow Room,” said KayLee Pemberton, president of the organization. “We love this time of the year and wanted to do something meaningful during the holiday season.”

Residents are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to the square from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16.

There will be cookies and hot chocolate and kids are invited to color gift tags for all of the presents.

“Participating merchants will also offer discounts to those who stop by and bring a toy,” Pemberton said.

The Rainbow Room is a non-profit organization that provides children under the care of Child Protective Services with necessary items.
