Join the Friends of the Edinburg Public Library for their Annual Membership Drive scheduled for Monday, October 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library and those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet the members of the group and hear all about the fun things they do throughout the year to help promote literacy in our region.

The Friends of the Edinburg Library is a private nonprofit organization. The association takes an active interest to enrich and enhance the library and community. They organize annual fundraisers and monthly book sales with proceeds going to the Library. They also sponsor special programs for children, teens and adults. In addition to that, the organization showcases various guest speakers during their monthly Brown Bag Luncheons. These informal gatherings are free and open to the public.

If you would like to become a member all you have to do is show up the day of the event, fill out a very simple application, pay your dues and enjoy refreshments while meeting interesting people, such as yourself, that value the library and giving back to the community.

The membership drive event will feature music by Mario Aleman, and presentation by Pino Shah, a World Heritage Architecture and Performing Arts Photographer. Also presenting that evening will be local author David Bowles.

Be sure and ask a friend, neighbor, new resident to Edinburg, or any book lover to attend the event and be ready to have some fun and enjoy excellent music and food.
