EDINBURG — Honor and celebrate grandparents at the Museum of South Texas History on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Grandparents play a key role in providing a sense of place and belonging for children and preserving history by sharing family stories, making and sharing a recipe handed down for generations or showing photos of a great, great grandfather who looked just like you. What better way to celebrate the role than by spending the afternoon together at MOSTHistory engaging in activities designed to celebrate those who preserve family traditions. Families can enjoy a variety of activities to celebrate grandparents: light refreshments, souvenir boutonnieres for grandparents, “instant vintage” photos in a photo frame, family tree crafts, or a tour through the galleries. Think you’ve seen the exhibits? Visit them again with a Family History Hunt to spark family conversations and stories. Refresh with coffee and pan dulce in the Grande Lobby after the hunt.
