EDINBURG - A passport fair will be hosted by the Hidalgo County District Clerks’ Office Saturday, April 1 at the Hidalgo County Courthouse. Families are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to process their applications as all applicants are required to appear in person, including minors who must be accompanied by both parents.

The district clerk office normally processes passport applications Monday through Friday, from 9am to 3pm only. Although applications are available at the hosting facility, applicants are encouraged to avoid delays by completing and printing their applications (Form DS-11) beforehand at www.travel.state.gov. Applicants must also present all of the required documents (originals) and forms of payment in order to proceed with the application process (see attached flyer).

The office of Arturo Guajardo, Jr., Hidalgo County Clerk, will also open its doors to process any last-minute birth certificates for applicants attending the passport fair. For more information regarding birth requirements, logon to: www.co.hidalgo.tx.us/countyclerk.

For more information regarding the passport fair or the application process, contact the district clerk office at 956-318-2200 or visit www.travel.state.gov.
