The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is teaming up with the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association (RGVDA) and KRGV-TV to offer health screenings, educational workshops and other activities that address diabetes and other related metabolic disorders.
The wellness event – “Together For Our Health” – will be Sunday, April 2, at the McAllen Convention Center.
The UTRGV School of Medicine and the College of Health Affairs will conduct clinical screenings, including those for blood sugar and blood pressure levels, and will host continuing medical education classes for healthcare professionals. The College of Health Affairs and College of Education and P-16 Integration will offer educational presentations for the public.
Students and faculty from UTRGV’s Health and Human Performance program and UTRGV Athletics and will offer physical activities for adults and children, and the College of Fine Arts will provide music and ceramics demonstrations.
