In 1966, a strange object came out of the night sky at a ranch north of town and terrorized eight construction workers.

Thursday, March 30 the Edinburg Arts Foundation will host an evening of fun-filled events at the 1966 Edinburg UFO Event at the original encounter site. Spectators will now be able to visit the site where it happened and hear the complete story of Edinburg's very own Close Encounter, told by local author Noe Torres and local historian Joe Ponce, whose dad investigated the original incident.

Also on the program, is Stargazing with Ben Hansen of the SyFy TV series "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files." A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the Dustin Michael Sekula Library.
