Calling all fairies, elves, gnomes, wizards and other magical and mystical creatures. The Edinburg World Birding Center invites the public to step through our gateway into the realm of fantasy, myth and adventure as we celebrate the arrival of spring with a Spring Fairy Festival Saturday March 18, from 2–6 p.m.
Fun and games will abound on this enchanted afternoon. Children, participate in a Quidditch Tournament (age restrictions apply). Have fun jousting, visit the Pirate Cove, and see what mischief the elves have been up to at the Mischief Forest. Use your imagination to build your very own fairy home using natural materials and then compete for the most creative dwelling. There will also be a children’s costume contest, so dust off those wings, horns, or ears, and wear your best mystical creature costume to win fun prizes. The festival will also feature free face painting, crafts, and other activities.
Admission for this event is free, but there is a cost for materials for those participating in fairy home building. Natural material bundles for fairy homes are $5. Additional material bundles are $2. Supplies are limited. To reserve your fairy bundle or to register for the Quidditch Tournament, please call 956-381-9922.
