EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District recently conducted its 3rd Annual Teacher Technology Ambassador Training Day. More than a dozen teachers, who are the lead technology liaisons for their campuses, participated in the event held at the Information Technology Building.

The teachers learned about the newest and most innovative Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM) strategies.  They also collaborated to create and integrate computer coding, programming, robotics and virtual reality in to classroom lessons.

“Providing professional development opportunities such as these, grants insight and knowledge to teachers on how to formalize STEAM components into their classroom routine and curriculum,” said ECISD Technology Integration Specialist Amanda Worsham. “Our goal is to ensure that our students leave Edinburg CISD with the knowledge and the tools they need for professional and lifelong success.”

The teachers will take what they discovered and learned during the event back to their respective campuses to share with other teachers and students.

The next teacher technology training opportunity is scheduled to take place during the summer professional development trainings in June.
