Winter break for many is here and those looking for something different to do with the family, then head over to the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center (EWBC) for four days of educational fun with its Adventure at the Wetlands program.

Enjoy nature-related and outdoor activities that are designed to engage, inspire and entertain the whole family.

Tuesday, Dec. 27, through Friday, Dec. 30, the entire family can join in on some fun, outdoor adventures. On Tuesday, from 2:30 – 4 p.m., join the EWBC for Geocaching. Learn how to use a GPS unit as you go on a high-tech scavenger hunt, then walk the EWBC grounds to find geocaches. On Wednesday, from 1 – 4 p.m., visit the Dragonfly Pond to capture and observe the critters from the waters below. Thursday is Kid’s Birding Day and kid experts will lead you on a fun bird walk from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. On Friday, from 2:30 – 4 p.m., you will build your own boats from natural materials and then race them down one of the Center’s streams.

The fee for each day of Adventure at the Wetlands is regular admission: $3 for adults, $2 for students, children, and seniors, and no charge for children aged 5 and under. Admission is free for EWBC members. Reservations are recommended.
