EDINBURG – Three Edinburg CISD orchestra students from Economedes High School recently placed in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Orchestras for the 2016-2017 school year. This is the highest honor a music student in Texas can achieve and this is the sixth year in a row that students from the Jaguar Orchestra earn this prestigious honor.

The three students winning a spot this year mark the ninth, tenth and eleventh TMEA All-State placements for the school in the past six years.  This is the most of any Rio Grande Valley school in recent years.

The 2017 TMEA Jaguar Orchestra All-Staters are: Diego Garza-Romero, sophomore, Double Bass, 2-year All-Stater – TMEA All-State String Orchestra (3rd group); Aaron Barrera, senior, Viola – TMEA All-State Philharmonic Orchestra (2nd group); and Isai Martinez, senior, Double Bass, 3-year All-Stater – TMEA All-State Symphony Orchestra (1stgroup).
