McALLEN – The Rio Grande Valley Ballet artistic director Deborah Case presents the 44th anniversary of The Nutcracker at the McAllen Performing Arts Center Saturday Dec. 3 and Sunday Dec. 4.

Principal dancers will be Aliana Garza as the Sugar Plum Fairy and William Kauffmann as the Cavalier for Sunday's performance.

“Both young artists have tremendous audience appeal and receive accolades every time they dance,” Case said in a statement. “They are sure to inspire and entertain all children and adults who have a love for classical ballet.”

Returning to the cast are Rio Grande Valley Ballet alumni Michael Rodriguez and Cielo Soto who will also perform the pas de deux of Sugar Plum Fairy in the show on Saturday.

Deborah Case's production of The Nutcracker is the first local company to perform a full production at the performing arts center.

“It's an honor to be the first ballet company to dance across the newest stage in Texas,” Case said. “What an outstanding way to celebrate 44 years of the Valley's single longest running show, The Nutcracker.”
